A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently to celebrate the start of construction for The Standard at East Library development at the former site of the East Library at 1910 E. North Ave., on Milwaukee’s East Side. The Standard at East Library project will consist of a five-story building with 99 market rate apartments, a 16,000-square-foot grey box space for the East Library, and a 2,400-square-foot retail space.
HSI Properties LLC is the developer for the project. The building was designed by Engberg Anderson Architects and will be built by Stevens Construction. Hammel Green & Abrahamson Inc. (HGA) was hired to design the interior of the new library space.
