Alzheimer’s Association adds employees, honors community members
The Alzheimer’s Association recently held its annual meeting and has added three new employees to its staff. Kendra Albers, was hired as special events manager; Gale Morgan was added as community outreach coordinator; and Deborah Klement was added as a receptionist.
The Association also named three new board members including Pearlean Cannon, founder and facilitator of the Alzheimer’s Association African American Support Group; Jim Mueller, partner with FlagshipSailsRx LLC; and Pat Pearman, director of disparity programs and U.S. Partnerships at General Electric. Four community members were honored for their involvement with the Alzheimer’s Association. Dr. Mark Sager, director of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute and professor of medicine at the University of Wisocnsin- Madison School of Medicine and Public Health was awarded the Investigator of the Year award; Dr. Kathleen Patterson, assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and the Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin was awarded the Practitioner of the Year award. Lou Brunner received the caregiver of the year award for providing primary care for his wife Debra; and Brookdale Senior Living, Inc., was awarded the Association’s friend of the year award for raising more than $100,000 and supporting the mission of the Association.

Larry Gebhard, manager with Winter, Kloman, Moter & Repp, S.C., has been recognized by the Wisconsin Chapter of the March of Dimes for his eight years of volunteer service to the chapter, including six years as treasurer and finance committee chairperson for the chapter’s Board of Directors.
Jewish Family Services, Inc. has hired Juliana Bruno as its new director of outreach. Bruno has been involved in outreach for well over a decade, working predominantly with non-profits and private schools from the West Coast to the Midwest.
Susan Mingesz has joined Gilda’s Club Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc., Milwaukee, as director of clinical programs and administration. Mingesz comes to Gilda’s Club from Wheaton Franciscan Health Care where she served as a medical social worker.
ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis has added Jody Furlong, volunteer with ABCD; Wayne Oldenburg, president and chief executive officer of Oldenburg Group Inc., and Audrey Warner, vice president with RW Baird & Company. Donna Davis was hired as a senior program associate and the organization also promoted Jackie Adams to program manager and Judy Mindin has also been promoted to mission services manager.
