  • Sunday, Dec. 4 The Milwaukee Ballet will host the Nutcracker Scavenger hunt at Mayfair Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Holiday shoppers are invited to join Milwaukee Ballet at Center Court for the Nutcracker Scavenger Hunt, beginning at noon on Sunday. Mall visitors will be on the lookout for 10 nutcrackers hidden throughout the Mall each redeemable for 4 tickets to see Milwaukee Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 6 Pick ‘n Save and the Roundy’s Foundation will host a Community Expo at Pick ‘n Save, 7401 W. Good Hope in Milwaukee. The Expo is designed to support and raise awareness for local organizations dedicated to fighting hunger and domestic violence. During the Community Expo, Pick ‘n Save and the Roundy’s Foundation will donate nearly $45,000 to seven area organizations.  The Council for the Spanish speaking will receive $2,500 in Pick ‘n Save gift cards; House of Peace will receive $4,980 in Pick ‘n Save gift cards; Lighthouse Youth Center will receive $5,000 for its food pantry and meal programs; Daystar, Inc. will receive $,7000 for its domestic abuse programs; the Hmong American Friendship Association will receive $7,500 for its food pantry; the Milwaukee Women’s Center will receive $8,000 for its domestic abuse programs; and SHARE of Southeastern Wisconsin will receive $10,000 for one of its food funds. The Expo begins at 10 a.m. with the organizations staffing booths set up throughout the store to distribute information to customers.  There will also tables set up with activities for children.  At noon, the expo will end with check presentations to the organizations.

  • Friday, Dec. 9 Historic Milwaukee Inc., will team up with Josh Jeffers, owner of the Historic Mitchell building and Mitch Winter, executive vice president of Laughlin Constable for a behind the scenes tour of the Historic Mitchell Building. Guests will get to see historic wooden pilings and the mansard roof, one of Milwaukee’s most breathtaking historic structures. Guests will also have a chance to see Historic Milwaukee’s brand new space and the limited edition Historic Milwaukee Inc., print collection curated by David Barnett Gallery. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. Tours will begin at 6:30 p.m. Cost to attend is $75 per person or $65 for Historic Milwaukee members. RSVP is required and can be done by calling 414-277-7795.
  • Sunday, Dec. 11 The Islamic Environmental Group of Wisconsin presents an interfaith environmental justice educational public event entitled “Environmental Justice: A Human Rights Issue,” at the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, 4707 S, 13th St. from 2 to 4:30 p.m.  The event is free admission.
