  • Saturday, March 5 through Sunday, March 6 The Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club will host the Third annual Great American Soccer Marrowthon, a 24 hour event at Uihlein Soccer Park. The event will take place from 9a.m. on Saturday and last until 9 a.m. on Sunday. The goal is to raise funding and awareness for The Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research and the National Marrow Donor Program. For a minimum of $10 per player, or $100 per team, participants will receive an event t-shirt and one hour of indoor field time. All ages, skill levels, and team sizes are welcome. Teams may utilize their field time for Soccer or other athletic activities.Event participants and spectators are encouraged to become a registered bone marrow donor through the Be The Match, which will be on-site during the event. The Blood Center of Wisconsin will be on-hand for a blood drive March 5 from 9a.m. to 1p.m.Additional on-site activities include music, food and beverage specials, as well as a silent auction featuring a Green Bay Packers football signed by members from the 2011 Championship Team.   • Tuesday, March 8 The Alzheimer’s Association will host its 2011 Mardi Gras Gala at the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Drive beginning at 5 p.m. The event is being held on “Fat Tuesday and will feature cocktails hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment from a juggler, a palm and tarot card reader, a caricaturist, a handwriting analyst and an accordion player. Formal Cajun-style food will also be served. Proceeds from the event will support programs and services provided to the community by the Alzheimer’s Association.   • Thursday, March 10 The 29th Annual Taste of Milwaukee fundraiser to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Southeastern Wisconsin will be held at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event will feature food from 20 of Milwaukee’s top restaurants, a celebrity wine pull and live entertainment by The Kevin Hayden Band.   • Saturday, March 12 St. Vincent de Paul Society will host a CYO Dance Revival with musical entertainment The Ricochettes at St. Therese Parish, 9525 W. Bluemound Road, from 8 to 11 p.m. The Ricochettes performed with bands like the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, the Byrds, The Dave Clark 5, The Moody Blues, Chubby Checker, Peter & Gordon, Chad & Jeremy, and The Searchers. Former radio personality Jack Lee will be the master of ceremonies for the evening. All proceeds will go directly to the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Needy Conference Fund, which helps cover basic needs such as food, clothing, furniture, appliances and life saving medications for some of the poorest families in Milwaukee.  Tickets are $15 for individuals or $25 per couple.   • Friday, March 25 The Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation will host a Mad Hatter’s Reception at Pier Wisconsin, 500 N. Harbor Drive, to raise money in support of Wisconsin’s bleeding disorders community. The event will feature live and silent auctions, signature cocktails, a pasta bar and desserts. Live auction prizes include Green Bay Packer tickets, a Chicago Bears weekend getaway and a party package with beer for a year.  Tickets are $75 and corporate packages are available for $1800 with additional underwriting opportunities starting at $500.  RSVP online at glhf.org or by calling the foundation at (414)-257-6786.

  • Saturday, March 26th, the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin will host the annual Autism Ball at the Wisconsin Club, 900 W Wisconsin Ave. from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Proceeds from the event will raise money in support of the society’s mission to improve the lives of all affected by autism. The event will feature a silent auction, cork pull, martinis in keepsake glasses, live music and dinner.  The auction includes a luxury box at Wrigley Field for a Cubs v Brewers game, with catering and parking.  Tickets are $125 per person and sponsor tables are available for $1500.   • Tuesday, March 31 The Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, 929 N. Water St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Patty Cadorin will be awarded the Lynde Uihlein Award for service to the Women’s Fund. The event will also feature an art and jewelry auction to benefit the Fund’s family of grant making programs. A limited edition anniversary bracelet created by Cathy Jakicic will be given as a thank you gift for on-site donations of $100 or more. Milwaukee Choral artists will also provide live entertainment for the event. There is no charge to attend. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available. RSVP by March 23 at womensfundmke.org.
