  • Friday, Dec. 10 Potawatomi Bingo Casino, 1721 W. Canal St. will announce the total of its Miracle on Canal Street fundraiser for children’s charities. Thirty children’s charities from southeastern Wisconsin will receive money raised during the 2010 Miracle on Canal Street program. The program will take place in the Casino’s Nest of Life Bingo Hall and will featurethe Waukesha Broadway Singers, speakers, and, of course, the unveiling of the year’s fund-raising total. The event begins at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 11 The Eatery on Farwell will host its inaugural Pancake Smackdown for Charity. At least nine different Milwaukee area professionals will compete in the pancake eating contest for the charity of their choice. The contest will measure which candidate can eat the most pancakes in ten minutes. Individuals competing in the Pancake Smackdown include: The Eatery’s Soux Chef Mike Beyers for Independence First; Andy Mielke from Eating Milwaukee for the BESTD Clinic; Dan Augustine from NOISE Inc. for the Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center; Tim Cigelske from Team Challenge for Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation; Paul Fredrich from Burp Blog forTransition Milwaukee; Andrew Wagner from On Milwaukee for the Ataxia-Telangiectasia Childen’s Project; Tim Panicucci for Celebrating Brad: A Tribute for Art & Life; Phil Gerbyshak for Brew City HDI; and Pat Nettesheim for Guitars For Vets. Attendees can purchase a ticket to the event for $10, with $7 of the admission going to the candidate or charity they’d like to support. The remaining $3 will be placed into a pot for the winning charity. Admission includes the ability to redeem special deals on bloody marys, beer and brunch items. Guests who select the wining charity will also receive a free appetizer from the Eatery.
