*Friday, Nov. 22, the City of Glendale and Bayshore Town Center will celebrate the eighth annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Bayshore’s Town Square. The event, free and open to the public, will include horse-drawn carriage rides from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., live music performed by Caribbean Eclipse, holiday displays, a visit from Santa, and the tree lighting at 6 p.m. Bayshore Town Center is located at 5800 N. *Tuesday, Nov. 26, Literacy Services of Wisconsin will hold a volunteer orientation for individuals interested in learning more about how they can contribute to the organization’s tutoring services. The orientation will cover the nonprofit organization’s mission and literacy programs. Attendees will not be required to make a volunteer commitment at the orientation. The meeting will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the nonprofit’s office, located at 555 N. Plankinton Ave. in Milwaukee. *Friday, Nov. 29, the Lake Cottage Duo will perform in Windhover Hall at the Milwaukee Art Museum, located at 700 N. Art Museum Dr. in Milwaukee. *Tuesday, Dec. 3, BoardStar will present a panel discussion on “Nonprofit Trends in 2014: What’s Next?” The event will help area nonprofit leaders prepare their boards and staffs for trends to come in the new year and will also provide an opportunity to open up dialogue about challenges in the nonprofit community and potential solutions. Panelists include Deanna Singh of the Burke Foundation, Sarah Smith Pancheri of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Jamie Elder of Wisconsin Department of Children & Families, and Joe Volk of Community Advocates. Steve Zimmerman of Spectrum Nonprofit Services will serve as moderator. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, located at 220 E. Pittsburgh Ave. in Milwaukee.
