Jon Teraoka, the owner of W.I.S. Logistics and the Milwaukee area branch of Mainfreight Inc., recently purchased a 20,000-square-foot industrial building at 5600 S. Westridge Road in New Berlin for $1.17 million. Mike Judson of Pewaukee-based Judson & Associates represented Teraoka in brokering the deal.

Teraoka moved W.I.S. Logistics and Mainfrieght to the building from another location in New Berlin.
“We like New Berlin and we like the access to I-43,” he said.

W.I.S. Logistics is a truck load broker and Mainfreight is an air freight forwarder.

The two companies were previously located in an 11,000-square-foot space that Teraoka leased. The companies needed “a lot more space,” and it is a good time to buy and gain the benefits of property ownership, he said.

“I have control over the mortgage, which is great,” Teraoka said. “I have control over the costs. It’s a great time to buy.”

The two companies have a total of 24 employees in the building.
