Baird Investment Banking named best in middle market
R.W. Baird & Co.’s investment banking division was recently named Middle Market Investment Bank of the Year by Buyout magazine.
During 2007, Baird Investment Banking was involved in 57 deals worth $12.4 billion compared to 44 deals worth an aggregate of $4.6 billion in 2006; continued to expand private equity-driven deals, which now account for over half of Baird’s M&A activity; doubled European dollar volume between 2006 and 2007; advised on its first US-India deal; and expanded on its technology sector capabilities.
Godfrey & Kahn named most active M&A law firm in state
Milwaukee-based Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. has been named the most active law firm in Wisconsin for bank merger and acquisition deals in 2007 by American Banker magazine.
The rankings were based on the number of domestic bank and thrift mergers completed in 2007 by primary legal advisors throughout the United States. This is the third time since 2002 Godfrey & Kahn has achieved similar recognition in American Banker for its bank merger practice.
