Riders can save $1 on their trip to the Big Gig if they use the county’s new Pre>Fare digital ticketing service to purchase tickets ahead of time. A Freeway Flyer ticket to Summerfest costs $6.50 if customers pay with cash, and $5.50 if they buy through Pre>Fare.

Riders who purchase bus tickets through Pre>Fare before June 24 will also get a free weekday admission Summerfest ticket.

“Our partner, MCTS, is always looking for new ways to provide our patrons with the best service to Summerfest,” said Don Smiley, president and CEO of Summerfest. “Pre>Fare is a convenient option that will help patrons plan ahead for a hassle-free trip to Summerfest.”

Pre>Fare was launched in partnership with a Milwaukee-based startup company called Tixora that specializes in e-tickets.

“We believe in the power of public transportation and mobile ticketing technology, and we are proud that our tech will help tens of thousands of riders get to Summerfest easily and safely,” said Aaron Redlich, CEO of Tixora.

Summerfest runs from June 29 through July 3 and July 5 through July 10 from noon until midnight.
