Miller Park will screen fans using metal detectors for its Sept. 11 game against the Miami Marlins and its Sept. 13 game against the Cincinnati Reds.
The Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club is encouraging fans to arrive early to those games. While the Brewers have screened fans at select gates in the past, this is the first all-fan screening that has been undertaken at Miller Park.
Fans will be asked to remove metal items from their pockets, but wallets, shoes and belts can remain in place. Bags will be checked at the gates, as usual, and the list of prohibited items will also remain unchanged.
The screening is part of a security program Major League Baseball implemented this season, which will require screening during the postseason and for all 2015 MLB games.
