Mequon-based The Gauthier Law Group LLC plans to move to the Warehouse #1 building at 126 N. Jefferson St. in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward.

Minneapolis-based Inspec Inc., an engineering and architectural firm that focuses on roofs, walls, pavements and waterproofing systems, plans to move its Milwaukee office from 555 W. Layton Ave. to a 5,896-square-foot space on the first floor of the Warehouse #1 building.

The Gauthier Law Group is a boutique law firm that focuses on commercial real estate, commercial finance and corporate transactions. Attorney Jan Gauthier is currently the firm’s only employee, but she plans to add a paralegal at the new location, and plans to have a total of five employees in two to three years.

"I’m moving in order to grow the firm," said Gauthier.

The firm will occupy 1,774 square feet of space in the second floor of the building. The building owners, Warehouse #1 LLC, are adding windows to the space on the south side of the building.

Gauthier said the Third Ward is a good location for a commercial real estate law firm and is closer to her clients downtown and some that are in Chicago.

The new tenants will bring the 70,000-square-foot building’s occupancy rate up to about 90 percent said Pat LeSage, one of the building’s owners.

The other tenants in the 104-year-old building include Small Business Times.
