Menomonee Falls grinding shop receives new 16-inch OD grinder

T&L Grinding Corp., a Menomonee Falls grinding job shop, recently purchased a 16-inch outer diameter by 24-foot cylindrical grinder, one of the largest grinders in the state. The company believes the new machine, a $200,000 investment, will help it attract more work from local manufacturers.

“We are trying to corner the market for Illinois and Minnesota (companies) that are being sent parts, to help Wisconsin keep the parts in the state,” said Lori Koch, president and CEO. “And a lot of companies are sending parts up to Appleton and Green Bay in the state here. Because we are so close, we can save them a lot of time and money in shipping.”

T&L received the machine in April, and it was fully operational by late last month. While the company has not advertised its new capabilities, it’s already received orders.

“We’ve got a job in here now and another coming in on Wednesday,” Koch said. “It (has) increased our capabilities and makes us more valuable to a lot of customers in the area.”
