Meijer buys site for Greenfield store for $5.6 million

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meijer Inc. purchased the 27-acre former Mount Carmel nursing home site at 4658 S. 60th St. in Greenfield for $5.6 million, according to state records.

In 2017, Meijer plans to open a store in West Bend, city officials announced recently. Also, Meijer eventually plans to open a store in Sheboygan, where the company earlier this year acquired Memorial Mall.

Plans for the Greenfield store were approved recently.

Meijer has more than 200 stores throughout the Midwest. Meijer stores include full grocery and general merchandise departments.
