Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and his wife Kris; Kenya Bell, wife of Milwaukee Bucks player Charlie Bell; and former Fox-6 TV reporter Julie Feldman will be among the "models" taking the runway at “Awear,” the fifth annual fashion event to benefit Sojourner Family Peace Center, on Thursday, April 2, at the Harley-Davidson Museum. Awear is presented by Harley-Davidson Motor Company.
The event begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 5 p.m., followed by a live auction and runway show at 7:45 p.m. The honorary chairperson of Awear is Gail Lione of Harley-Davidson. Emcees are Shelley Walcott and Scott Steele of Today’s TMJ4, and the live auctioneer will be Jim “Lips” LaBelle.
Featured fashions will be provided by local retailers Miss Groove, Stephanie Horne, m.e. Lou, Shoo, Suiters, Detour, Harley-Davidson, and Aala Reed.
Tickets for the event are $95 per person. Exclusive runway tables for four are available for $700. All proceeds benefit Sojourner Family Peace Center’s many programs to eliminate domestic violence in the Milwaukee area, including the shelter, the 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline and the Batterers Anonymous – Beyond Abuse program.
