A new industrial manufacturing technician apprenticeship program has been added at the Milwaukee Area Technical College campus in Oak Creek.
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards has joined MATC to create the program, which they are introducing this morning at the school.
The program is designed to help manufacturing companies train entry level employees to set up, operate, monitor and control production equipment. DWD and MATC garnered input from local manufacturing companies through a focus group that surveyed their needs.
MATC’s new program will be funded by a federal Sectors Alliance for the Green Economy grant.
