Marlo and Altus Vinyl to expand in Racine

Organizations:

A pair of manufacturers, Marlo Inc. and Altus Vinyl LLC, will expand their operations in the city of Racine, the Racine County Economic Development Corp. announced.

Marlo, a producer of water treatment equipment, plans to build a 26,000-square-foot addition to its 32,000-square-foot facility at 2227 South St. in Racine. The company also plans to create 43 new jobs over the next three years.

“We have grown our work force to over 58 people and increased our sales to $20 million,” said Marlo president Michael Glines. “Racine has always been the home of Marlo Inc. We are proud of our 40 years as part of the local economy. We hire Racine residents and we support Racine suppliers. We are excited to begin our next phase of growth here in our hometown. We consider this addition to be an investment in the future.”

Altus Vinyl LLC, a manufacturer of vinyl products, plans to move its operations from a 20,000-square-foot facility 3801 S. Memorial Dr., Racine, to a larger facility at 1907 S. Patrick St. in Racine and will double its workforce from 12 to 25 within three years.

“Although we considered many location options, preferably more centralized in Racine County, our priority was to retain our current employees, the majority of which live in the City of Racine,” said Altus Vinyl co-owner Christine Burt.

Altus Vinyl LLC will purchase a 4-story, 56,000-square-foot building and will occupy two of the floors. The other floors will be occupied by other tenants.
