One of the largest trade shows at McCormick Place, whose protest over soaring labor costs touched off a wave of changes more than three years ago, is canceling plans to hold its 2019 meeting in Chicago in a dispute over hotel room rates.
The Chicago-based Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society show, which previously had committed to holding its annual conference and exhibition in the city in 2015 and again in 2019, has notified Chicago tourism officials that it will break its deal for 2019 and move the convention to Orlando.
