MACC Fund receives $85,000 donation from Balistreri Sendik’s

The Balistreri owned and operated Sendik’s Food Markets recently presented the MACC Fund a check for $85,000. The money was raised during the organization’s fourth quarter 2010 charity program. This is the third consecutive year Balistreri owned and operated Sendik’s have donated to the organization. “It has been our privilege to work with the MACC Fund.  Their dedication and drive to help children with cancer and blood disorders is inspirational.  It is our honor to partner with them and hopefully make a positive difference in peoples lives,” said Nick Balistreri of Sendik’s Food Markets.
Proceeds were collected through customer and associate purchases of the Sendik’s Food Market Real Food magazine and from the record number of TODAY’S TMJ4 MACC Stars designed by 7-year-old Emilie Janzen that were sold. Nearly 50,000 candy canes commemorating the 25th anniversary of the West Allis Candy Cane Lane were also sold for $1.
“The grocery industry has supported the MACC Fund for nearly three decades,” said Jon McGlocklin, president and co-founder of The MAAC Fund. “The Balistreri owned and operated Sendik’s Markets have distinguished themselves as not only leaders in this industry but as a firm which is dedicated to helping noble causes like the MACC Fund in concert with their generous customers and vendors.  The MACC Fund is honored to be able to partner with Sendik’s to help children battling cancer and related blood disorders.” Balistreri Sendik’s has donated $206,000 to the MACC Fund over the last three years.
