Lakefront to host Black Friday event

Organizations:

Lakefront Brewery, Inc. will offer Black Friday enthusiasts an alternative to frenzied holiday shopping this year with its third annual Black Friday event and a limited edition beer at the center of the celebration.

The Milwaukee-based brewery’s Black Friday festivities will kick off at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, with beer as well as brewery breakfast food and “beermosas” from Karma Bar & Grill. The event will also feature a deejay from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., brewery tours beginning at 11 a.m., and live music by the Brewhouse Polka Kings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The limited edition beer, Black Friday Imperial India-Style Black Ale, will be available at the brewery exclusively on Nov. 29. The special brew debuted at last year’s Black Friday event and sold out in 90 minutes.

The dark ale is sold in 22-oz. bottles, and sales will be limited to three bottles per person until supplies are exhausted. Lakefront Brewery plans to have 5,000 bottles in stock, up from 1,200 bottles last year. The first 1,000 customers will receive a limited Black Friday pint glass.

“Black Friday is all about one-day-only, limited supply deals,” said Chris Johnson, director of business development at Lakefront Brewery. “So we wanted to offer our customers an exclusive beer worth getting up early for. This is a very strong, distinctive dark ale with ample pine and citrus aromas.”

A new component to this year’s Black Friday celebration will encompass a bottle swap, in which attendees can bring and trade bottles of rare or unusual brews.

Lakefront Brewery is located at 1872 N. Commerce St. in Milwaukee.
