Sturtevant-based KP! Toffee LLC has been sold to KP Group Inc.
KP! Toffee, which manufactures and distributes premium, upscale toffee, was founded in 2007 by Karen Peltier. She built a loyal following at farmers’ markets and festivals throughout Wisconsin and soon won acclaim throughout the Midwest. It is sold at retailers, restaurants, casinos and gift shops.
KP Group Inc. is owned by Mike Clark, who is also president of MJC-Ltd., a Chicago commercial construction company. He plans to keep KP! Toffee in the Kenosha/Racine area and grow the business.
“The company is financially solid, the products taste great, the candy market is strong and Karen has done a tremendous job of branding the company and building the distribution network,” Clark said. “I’m overwhelmed by the level of interest and opportunities coming in from everywhere. I hope to continue building upon her success.”
“Both Mike and I have the same philosophy and goals: to build the KP! Toffee brand and distribution,” Peltier said.
KP! Toffee is manufactured at 9602 Durand Ave. in Sturtevant.
