Madison Medical Affiliates, Milwaukee
Kevin Behl, executive director of Madison Medical Affiliates, is a quiet but impactful leader in the nonprofit community.
Behl formerly served as the president of The Cathedral Center, a homeless shelter in downtown Milwaukee serving mostly women and families.
Through his work with board members and The Cathedral Center staff, Behl assisted the organization in establishing a firm financial base.
Under Behl’s leadership, The Cathedral Center succeeded in expanding programs and services at a time when city, state and federal programs were facing severe budget cuts.
Behl believes in solid business principles and carries those beliefs into everything he does.
He also served as president of the East Town Association and has taken on leadership roles with Milwaukee Downtown Bid #21.
In each case, he focused on implementing new sponsorship opportunities and solid practices that would promote sustainability long-term.
“A lot of the work we do, that I try to impress upon some of the younger leaders that I work with, is to continue to stay involved and get involved. Work with these great organizations so the efforts of their staff and their leadership are maintained in the community,” Behl said.
Behl currently works with a group of 40 physicians at Madison Medical Affiliates, a Columbia St. Mary’s facility. He is influential in his role there as well as with the Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation.
