Chicago-based insurance company Kemper Corp. has agreed to sell its Wacker Drive headquarters, which has never changed ownership since the 41-story tower was completed in 1962.
New York-based AmTrust Realty Corp. has a deal to buy the 526,158-square-foot building at 1 E. Wacker Drive, the company confirmed, declining to disclose a price.
AmTrust will close on the sale-leaseback deal in the third quarter, according to a statement from Kemper Vice President and Chief Investment Officer John Boschelli. “Along with this agreement Kemper will remain as a tenant in the building with a long-term lease arrangement and retain naming and signage rights for the building,” Mr. Boschelli said.
