Jumpstart on the Weekend

*Friday, July 25, Newaukee will highlight the music of Myles Coyne and Bizzon during its 2014 season of the Koss Lunar Series at the Milwaukee Athletic Club Rooftop. The weekly music series, which Newaukee presents in partnership with the Koss Corporation, features live music, a DJ, food and beverage service. The series, free for Newaukee members, runs every Friday evening from 6:30 to 11 p.m. through Sept. 5. Attendees should plan to dress in business casual attire. *Friday, July 25, through Sunday, July 27, German Fest will come to Milwaukee with authentic German food, beverages and cultural activities along the lakefront. Scheduled activities include a charitable run/walk on Friday at 7 p.m., a soccer tournament throughout the weekend, a Dachshund Derby and Wiener Dog Costume Contest on Sunday, and dance and music performances throughout the weekend. The festival will run from 3 p.m. to midnight on Friday, noon to midnight and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday at Henry W. Maier Festival Park, located at 200 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee. Admission costs $13 for adults, $10 in advance, $7 for senior citizens and $7 for students with a school I.D. Children age 12 and under can enter the festival for free so long as they are accompanied by an adult. *Saturday, July 26, Brady St. Festival will enliven Milwaukee’s East Side with live music, local business vendors, food and beverages and more. The festival will run along Brady Street from 11 a.m. to midnight with four stages featuring a variety of local bands throughout the day. Additional entertainment will include Division BMX shows at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. as well as GLWC Casablanca Rumble V Pro Wrestling matches from 3 to 5 p.m. and a performance by the Milwaukee Flyers at 7 p.m. For complete details on the festival, visit www.bradystreet.org.
