*Saturday, Sept. 21, and Sunday, Sept. 22, Doors Open Milwaukee returns for a third year with an opportunity for area residents to tour more than 125 buildings in greater Milwaukee. The event, presented by Historic Milwaukee, Inc., features both free self-guided tours of building sites and special in-depth tours for a fee. Buildings open for tours range from historic sites to cultural landmarks to modern structures. Doors Open will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday with some tour sites operating under restricted hours. This year’s event will also feature its second annual photo challenge focused on Milwaukee architecture and people. *Saturday, Sept. 21, and Sunday, Sept. 22, the Cedarburg Wine and Harvest Festival will take place in downtown Cedarburg with produce and food products from area vendors in a farmer’s market and marketplace along with a selection of local wines. The free festival will also include live music, a scarecrow contest, a giant pumpkin weigh-off and a giant pumpkin charity regatta among other activities. *Sunday, Sept. 22, the Cheery Cherry Fall Fair will raise funds for the emergency department at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls. The fair will feature arts and crafts made by local exhibitors, a cherry booth, wine, food booths, a silent auction and raffle, live music, and children’s activities. Festivities will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Village Park Menomonee Falls, located along Appleton Avenue and Garfield Drive. Admission costs $4, and attendees age 12 and under can get in for free.
