Jump Start on the Weekend

    • Friday, Aug. 10, Point Fish Fry & A Flick, a free outdoor movie series at Discovery World, 500 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee. The series will take place every Friday evening until Sept. 7. Viewers can purchase food tickets to Milwaukee food trucks and a fish fry from The Bartolotta Restaurants before the movie begins. Viewers can also purchase Point beer.     • Saturday, Aug. 11 and Sunday, Aug. 12, the Milwaukee Air & Water Show will take over the lakefront along Lincoln Memorial Drive in Milwaukee. The show is free for the general public, but reserved seating is available. The show runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday with acts by the Black Diamonds Jet Team, the Navy Seals and the Milwaukee Fire Dept. fireboat.     • Saturday, Aug. 11 and Sunday, Aug. 12 the Morning Glory Fine Craft Fair will celebrate its 38th year. The fair highlights 140 fine craft artists specializing in glass, leather, ceramic, wood, photography, jewelry and more. Artists will also be awarded for their work. The fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and at Red Arrow Park, 929 N. Water St. in downtown Milwaukee.     • Sunday, Aug. 12, Miller High Life Veterans and Military Recognition Day at the Wisconsin State Fair. Veterans, military personnel and military families will receive complimentary admission to the fair from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with presentation of a Military ID, thanks to Miller High Life. The day will include a special program for military personnel, live music by divisions of Navy Band Great Lakes, a parade and an exhibit of military vehicles.
