The Milwaukee Job Corps Center will host a Job Fair Thursday, July 8 and Friday, July 9 at the Uihlein Soccer Park Community room, 7101 W. Good Hope Road from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Center will hire nearly 100 people to help run the site.
“Milwaukee Job Corps Center is an unbelievable opportunity granted for those who thought it would be impossible to succeed in today’s job market,” said Alderman Robert Puente said. “These opportunities don’t come along every day, and I would expect heavy interest and turnout at the job fair this week.”
Construction on the Milwaukee Job Corps Center site, which began just over a year ago, is on schedule to be completed this summer. The eight-building campus is located on a 25-acre lot on North 60th Street and West Green Tree Road. Neenah-based Miron Construction is building the center that was designed by Milwaukee-based Continuum Architects + Planning.
All equipment, materials and supplies used during training and classes will be purchased from local vendors. The Job Corp Center will feature vocational training shops, academic classrooms, dormitories, a cafeteria, and recreation facilities. For additional information visit www.milwaukeejobcorps.org
