Some cardio, strength, a little yoga, chasing grandchildren.

What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any?

Westwood

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life?

I like to think it means I don’t have to say I can’t do that any more, when my grandchildren want to play.  It means I have the energy and the willingness to jump over a rain puddle instead of walking around it, that I enjoy skipping and look forward to tomorrow’s next promise.

How does personal fitness affect your work life?

I feel more ready to take on the challenges that running a business brings on a daily basis.  Sometimes we see them coming, sometimes they sneak up and surprise us, but being physically active helps me feel prepared, with the energy and mental alertness to face challenges and come out on top.

Do you have a corporate health or wellness initiative?

Yes

What health/wellness organizations do you contract with, if any?

n/a

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization?

This is a concept that is discussed in our organization and has, from time to time, been organized as a formal program.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?

Get a plan, start small and build on your successes. It’s just like running a business, and you are worth it.
