BizTimes Media recently hosted its M&A Forum: Buy? Sell? Hold?, which included a keynote presentation by Mark Herndon, president of Dallas-based Parkwood Advisors LLC, a financial services firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, investment banking and private equity financing. Herndon’s presentation included an outlook on the mergers and acquisition market and key topics that business owners need to include when developing plans to sell their companies.
The event also included presentations from Ray Odom of Northern Trust and Jennifer D’Amato and Tom Myers of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C. Odom talked about the mental preparation many business owners need to undergo before they are ready to sell their companies, D’Amato highlighted several estate planning techniques, and Myers showed common elements that are included in many business sale transactions.
