Health care facilities earn savings award

Two Aurora clinics were recently recognized with an eScription Million Dollar Award for the savings they’ve accumulated by implementing the Nuance eScription platform for computer aided medical transcription. Only 36 health care organizations in the United States were recognized with the award for saving the industry more than $130 million in clinical documentation costs.
Aurora South Clinic and the Aurora Health Care Kettle Moraine/Metro Region were recognized with the award.
The eScription platform, is a background speech recognition solution that enables health care organizations to achieve dramatic cost savings by allowing clinicians to create documents in the most efficient way possible, by speaking into a phone, mobile dictation device, or electronic health record (EHR), while speech recognition technology produces highly accurate, formatted, draft documents for transcriptionists to review and edit.
"In a time when health care IT is relied upon to drive efficiencies to lower costs and drive better, safer patient care, the eScription Million Dollar Award recipients are paving the way," said Janet Dillione, executive vice president and general manager for Nuance Healthcare. "These health care organizations are improving the clinical documentation process and helping to bend the cost curve for the health care industry as a whole.”
