25 offices by the year 2006
The founder of AuditForce, which evolved into Jefferson Wells and which was subsequently purchased by Manpower, has helped found a new firm, Capital H, which he intends to grow rapidly.
The new professional services firm provides human resource services to large, medium and small organizations. It is based at 250 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee.
“From this initial office in Milwaukee, our plans are to open offices across the United States in the next five years,” said Mike Harris, co-founder and CEO of Capital H. “We already have 10 employees in Milwaukee and project to have 25 employees by the end of this year,” he added.
The firm intends to expand across America during the next five years with plans to open 25 offices and employ 1,100 HR professionals by the year 2006.
Harris was formerly chairman and CEO of Jefferson Wells International, the accounting, internal auditing and tax services firm headquartered in Milwaukee. He founded Jefferson Wells (originally known as AuditForce) in late 1995 and led its growth to 25 offices and 1,600 employees in five years. Jefferson Wells was recently sold to Glendale-based Manpower.
Harris’ partner is Jim Sweet, co-founder and president of Capital H. “Human capital is almost always the number one cost in operating any business,” said Sweet, an experienced HR executive. “At Capital H, we help organizations maximize returns on their human capital investment,” Sweet stated.
Sweet previously led the HR functions for the Kohler Corp. in Kohler, Keystone International in Houston, and W.H. Brady in Milwaukee.
Capital H provides services in management recruiting, compensation and benefits, organizational and employee development, HR information systems and e-HR, training and other HR areas. “Our vision is to be the preeminent HR services firm in the world, offering the market an alternative to the large HR consulting firms and typical management recruiters,” said Harris. “We believe there is a niche for a fairly priced, high-quality partner in the HR services arena.”
