The Sentry Foods store, located in a 33,450-square-foot space in the Hales Corners Plaza at 5321 S. 108th St. in Hales Corners, will close “in a week or two,” said Clay Moore, the store’s owner.
“I’m not really sure (when it will close),” he said. “It all depends how long it takes to liquidate the products.”
Moore opened the store in 2007.
Moore declined to comment when he was asked why he is closing the store.
One possible factor is that Walmart is increasing its presence in the area. Walmart recently opened a new store, with a grocery department, at W159 S6530 Moorland Road in Muskego and the company plans to expand the Greenfield store at 4500 S. 108th St. into a supercenter store, which will include a grocery department. The Muskego store is about 4 miles southwest of the Sentry store and the Greenfield store is about 1 mile north of the Sentry store.
