Mary Beth Pettit was named to the newly created role of chief technical officer at Milwaukee-based
GRAEF, as part of the engineering, planning and design firm's ongoing leadership transition.
In her new position, Pettit, a longtime GRAEF leader, is in charge of leading the firm's technical development and innovation.
Pettit currently serves on GRAEF's board of directors and operations team and has spent the past seven years leading the firm’s Milwaukee transportation group. As CTO, she will oversee technical directors and lead the firm's initiatives in quality, training, software standardization and best practices across all disciplines.
"Having been part of GRAEF for over 30 years, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible expertise and collaborative spirit that define our firm," Pettit said in a press release. "As we continue to grow, maintaining the highest technical standards and fostering innovation will be essential. I look forward to working with our teams to enhance project delivery and drive the next chapter of GRAEF’s success."
Pettit started at GRAEF as a co-op student, and she has remained with the firm throughout her career. She led the Milwaukee transportation design team in 2006, took on management of the department in 2018 and now serves as a principal, vice president and an elected board member.
With several of its executives retiring, GRAEF has named president Pat Kressin as CEO John Kissinger's successor upon his retirement this year, and longtime employee Brent Pitcher will become the company’s next chief operating officer in May upon Kevin Grebe's retirement.
