Goose Island, landlord make amends — again

The owner of the Goose Island brewpub is close to ending a feud with its landlord, nearing a new lease that would allow the Lincoln Park restaurant to stay open.

It’s a reversal from June, when landlord CRM Properties Group Ltd. said it was breaking off negotiations with Goose Island for its 12,500-square-foot space in 1800 N. Clybourn St.

At the time, CRM said the brewpub was seeking a 30 percent rent reduction, on top of concessions CRM granted five years earlier, that would push the rent well below market rates. Yet now both sides are ready to settle on a new lease, said Charles Malk, CRM’s founder.
