A construction launch ceremony was held recently to celebrate the start of construction for the Global Water Center, the research and business development facility that is being developed by the Milwaukee Water Council in the city’s Walker’s Point neighborhood. The $20 million project will transform a 106-year-old, seven-story warehouse at 223 W. Pittsburgh Ave. The Global Water Center will house water-related research facilities for universities, existing water-related companies and accelerator space for new emerging water-related companies.
