What does your daily or weekly fitness regime consist of?
"I take Treading classes at the downtown WAC on Monday and Wednesdays and usually run approx. 4 miles each class. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I take Body Works classes which is an all over body strength and toning class. Plus each of these days I do 20 minutes of ab exercises Fridays I usually try to have a quick and fun workout, usually outdoors in the summer."
Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life?
"It helps me manage my stress levels. It also gives me a sense of accomplishment after I set goals, push myself, and achieve those goals."
How does personal fitness affect your work life?
"Personal fitness helps me feel good about myself. If I feel good about myself, I have a positive aspect on all things in my life…including my business."
Do you have a corporate health or wellness initiative?
How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization?
"My staff consists of promotional models so being in good physical shape is important to the image of my company. However I try to find models that don’t look like skinny runway models, but look like healthy, athletic women."
What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?
"I am in the process of hiring more employees and once I have a full staff I am going to start a corporate fitness plan with the WAC. I think this is a great way for employees to have a connection with each other outside of work. I hope it helps everyone have a "workout buddy" to help motivate each other. It could also create healthy competition which could translate into the work environment too."
