Frontdesk CEO appointed to UW System Board of Regents

Learn more about:

Kyle Weatherly, chief executive officer of Milwaukee-based corporate homesharing startup Frontdesk, Inc., was recently named to the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents.

Weatherly, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an MPA in Public Management, co-founded Frontdesk in January 2017 with chief growth officer Jesse DePinto. Frontdesk manages private home rentals for corporate and leisure travelers, leasing apartments in upscale neighborhoods and then subletting them to guests and providing on-site management of the properties.

Weatherly is one of three people appointed by Gov. Tony Evers to the UW System board this week. The other appointees include Madison lawyer Amy Bogost and Corey Saffold, a UW-Whitewater student, who will serve as the non-traditional student representation on the board.

“Just like the rest of our state, the UW System is facing some unprecedented challenges as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and its financial and academic impacts on our campuses,” Evers said. “I am confident in these three regents and their ability to tackle the challenges ahead of us and ensure the continued success of not only the System, but of the Wisconsin Idea.”

In April, Frontdesk announced it completed a $6.8 million Series A funding round as it navigates coronavirus-related disruption to the travel industry. The company recently laid off 35 of its 241 employees, citing the economic impact of COVID-19.
