Froedtert Health has purchased land on the southwest side of Waukesha with plans to build a new health center.
The 5,000-square-foot clinic is planned for a vacant parcel on the southwest corner of West Sunset Drive and Genesee Road.
The facility will replace the former Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Central Waukesha Health Clinic at 237 Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Waukesha. The former clinic, a private practice of Dr. Robert Beaumont, closed in 2018. Beaumont retired in April 2018.
The new clinic, which will be named Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Sunset Drive Health Center, “will complement and grow the health network’s presence in the Waukesha community,” said Froedtert Health spokesman Steve Schooff. Froedtert has an existing clinic, its Westbrook Health Center, located at 2315 E. Moreland Blvd. on the city’s northeast side.
Services at the new facility will include primary care and on-site lab.
The new site will open with two physicians and will have the capacity to grow to up to four physicians and advanced practice providers, Schooff said. Construction is expected to begin in the spring, with a planned opening in the fall.
