Contributions made by Northwestern Mutual, U.S. Cellular, Brewers Community Foundation and Summerfest Foundation

Northwestern Mutual employees and financial representatives raised more than $775,000 through its annual Race for Research, a corporate challenge to raise awareness and money for childhood cancer research.
U.S. Cellular partnered with the Brewers Community Foundation to donate $20,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs across Wisconsin. The money will support a little league baseball program run by Boys & Girls Clubs called the Little Brewers.
Summerfest Foundation, Inc., gave $25,000 in grants to twelve local schools and nonprofit organizations to support in-school, after school and summer music education programs. Here’s a list of the recipients:
- Albert E. Kagel Elementary School – Milwaukee Public Schools
- Elm Creative Arts School – Milwaukee Public Schools
- Humboldt Park School – Milwaukee Public Schools
- Latino Arts String Program – The United Community Center
- Lincoln Center of the Arts – Milwaukee Public Schools
- Milwaukee Environmental Sciences Academy (MESA)
- Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO)
- Morse Middle School for the Gifted and Talented – Milwaukee Public Schools
- North Division High School – Milwaukee Public Schools
- Reagan IB High School – Milwaukee Public Schools
- School for Early Development & Achievement (SEDA)
- Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts
