Dave & Buster’s buys Wauwatosa property.

Dallas-based Dave & Buster’s Holdings Inc. recently purchased the four-acre former Ewald auto dealership property at 2201 N. Mayfair Road, Wauwatosa, from Craig Ewald. The sale price was not disclosed. The property was formerly used as a Chrysler dealership, which moved to Franklin earlier this year, and a used car and leasing dealership until last week. Dave & Buster’s plans to demolish the dealership buildings and build a new restaurant/entertainment complex on the property. Construction is expected to begin next year, and the restaurant/entertainment complex is expected to open in late 2009. Cory Sovine of Siegel-Gallagher represented Dave & Buster’s in brokering the sale and Brentwood Realty represented Ewald. Dave & Buster’s has about 50 locations in the U.S. "Dave & Buster’s is a first-class retail business, and they look forward to establishing a presence in the Milwaukee market," Sovine said. "The company typically opens only four or five stores a year nationally, so this is a real testament to Wauwatosa and the greater Milwaukee area as a whole. It’s also reflective of the kinds of well thought out, quality deals that are still getting closed even in today’s difficult real estate market."

Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. recently renewed its lease of 202,500 square feet of industrial space at 11900 N. River Lane, Germantown. Jeff Horn of Grubb & Ellis|Apex Commercial and Clair Paulson of Grubb & Ellis-Chicago represented Smurfit in brokering the deal.
