In March, 16 honorees, or young professionals who are active in the Milwaukee community, were honored for their leadership skills by the Waukesha-based Wisconsin chapter of the foundation and challenged to raise at least $2,500 each for a cure.

Each of them was nominated and selected by a committee of local business and civic leaders.

Honorees who collect the most donation money will be eligible for additional honors and prizes at the campaign wrap-up event on May 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at InterContinental Milwaukee.

Those interested in attending the event can purchase tickets on the foundation’s website.

Through May 13, the campaign had raised more than $41,000, around 54 percent of its $75,000 fundraising goal, with 13 days left to donate.
