Brookfield-based MyHealthDirect, the nationโs first and only health care scheduling exchange, announced today that its board of directors has appointed Tom Cox to be its chief executive officer.
Cox is a current MyHealthDirect board member. He will succeed MyHealthDirect founder Jay Mason, who will remain with the company and continue to serve as a board member.
Cox joins the company full-time after serving as chief operating officer of Healthways Inc., a global provider of well-being improvement solutions, where he oversaw sales, marketing and communications, market and delivery operations. Previously, he served as president of Concentra Network Services.
โIโm thrilled to be joining MyHealthDirect,โ said Cox. โThe companyโs approach to system-wide patient scheduling will be a critical part of helping our healthcare system become more efficient, effective and user-friendly.โ
โIโm pleased that Tom Cox has agreed to lead MyHealthDirect,โ Mason said. โTomโs deep healthcare provider experience, high-level industry relationships and leadership qualities will help drive MyHealthDirect to a new level. Iโm delighted that the company has grown at the pace and level where it can attract an executive of Tomโs caliber.โ
Backed by Chrysalis Ventures and Arboretum Ventures, MyHealthDirect provides its health care scheduling exchange services through a web-based platform to enable health plans, hospital systems, physician groups and other participants in care delivery to search for, schedule and confirm appointments on behalf of patients.
