Concordia University Wisconsin announced that it will be relocating its South Side Milwaukee Center. The university said it needed larger and more modern space to increase the number of classrooms, labs, and seminar rooms at the south side campus.
The current location at South 35th Street and Scott Street will remain open until construction on the new location at 1670 South Miller Parkway in the Village of West Milwaukee is complete. Concordia will lease 7,833 square feet of space in a multi-tenant building.
Concordia will also close its Hales Corners center at 5301 S. 108th St., and consolidate its operations into the new location in West Milwaukee.
The center is expected to open in March 2010, according to Concordia officials.
“It was important for us to be able to maintain our presence on Milwaukee’s South side and to serve our rapidly growing student population in the area,” said Dr. Michael Besch, vice president of academic operation. “We were overjoyed to find this excellent location in the heart of the growing and flourishing Village of West Milwaukee.”
