The Brew City Cigar Fest will follow Milwaukee’s lineup of summer festivals this year with an evening of cigar samples, spirits, food from area restaurants and live entertainment.
The cigar festival, scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee, is the first large-scale event of its kind in Milwaukee. The fest will mirror other cigar events in cities like Las Vegas, New York and Chicago that bring cigar smokers together to meet cigar company owners and representatives and learn about new cigars.
“We are proud to live in Wisconsin and want to showcase the rich variety of talent and products the region has to offer,” said event founders Jennifer Groh, owner of Metro Cigars in Germantown and Brookfield, and Beth Borst. “Not only is Milwaukee a great place to live and raise a family, but there is a level of sophistication and elegance present here, too.”
Highlights of the festival include live jazz performances, a cigar roller from the Dominican Republic who will be onsite to hand roll and sell cigars, food from Wolf Peach and beverages from Great lakes Distillery. Pairings and tastings among chocolate, beverages and cigars will also be part of the evening.
Attendees will receive more than $150 worth of premium cigars and gifts at the event, including cigars from Rocky Patel, Alec Bradley, Villiger, CLE, Gurkha, and Drew Estate.
Brew City Cigar Festival proceeds will benefit Dryhootch, a nonprofit organization that provides resources and ongoing support to military veterans transitioning back into life at home.
Event tickets, open to the public, cost $150 through Thursday, Aug. 15, $175 up until the event and $225 at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.brewcitycigarfest.com.
