Children’s Hospital, Donald Driver team up on health program

Organizations:

Green Bay Packers’ all-time leading receiver Donald Driver has teamed up with the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin to establish Driven to Better Health, a school- and family-based wellness partnership for Wisconsin children and families.

Driven to Better Health is open to all elementary and middle schools throughout Wisconsin interested in implementing physical activity and healthy nutrition activities for their school community. Families also will be encouraged to participate both with the school and at home.

“Driven to Better Health reaches kids where they are by bringing health and wellness improvements to both schools and homes,” said Peggy Troy, chief executive officer of the Children’s Hospital. “Children’s Hospital’s vision is that Wisconsin’s kids will be the healthiest in the country—and that means going beyond the hospital walls to reach kids and families. Working with Donald is another way that Children’s can positively influence the lives of kids throughout our state.”

Driver, who will inspire and motivate participants along the way through live chats, video Q&As and blogs, said being physically fit has provided valuable opportunities in life for him.

“As an athlete and a parent, I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned to inspire others,” he said. “Children’s Hospital and I have the same goal and that is to engage in activities to help kids and families lead happier, healthier lives.”
