State ends fiscal year with $135 million surplus

The state of Wisconsin’s general fund has an undesignated balance of $135.6 million as of the end of the fiscal year, which ended on June 30, according to a report released today by the state Department of Administration.

Wisconsin’s unemployment rate hit a 14-year low of 4.3 percent in September, on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the latest report from the state Department of Workforce Development.

Time for a people policy
