Gubernatorial The Republican and Democratic candidates for governor and U.S. Senate will participate in two, innovative 90-minute, town hall meetings at Marquette University Law School’s Eckstein Hall in Milwaukee next month.
The candidates for governor, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker (R) and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D), will participate in the first event Friday, Oct. 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The candidates for U.S. Senate, Senator Russ Feingold (D) and Ron Johnson (R), will participate Friday, Oct. 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The commercial-free discussions will be broadcast statewide by WISN 12, the ABC affiliate in Milwaukee, with its co-production partner, Milwaukee Public Television (Channels 10/36).
12 News UpFront anchor Mike Gousha, distinguished fellow in law and public policy at Marquette University Law School, will moderate the discussions. Gousha will lead a roundtable conversation with the candidates, followed by live questioning from citizen groups participating at remote locations throughout Wisconsin.
WISN 12 will simulcast the events with Milwaukee Public Television (WMVS/WMVT) and broadcast across the state on WKOW (Madison), WFRV (Green Bay), WAOW (Wausau), WXOW (La Crosse), and WQOW (Eau Claire), all of which carry the award-winning weekly public affairs show, “UpFront with Mike Gousha.” The town hall meetings will be live-streamed by WisPolitics.com.
