Bubbler: The Good Life

Andrew Holman, partner of RitzHolman CPAs in Milwaukee is an avid photographer

Since he was a child, Andrew Holman, partner of RitzHolman CPAs in Milwaukee, has had a passion for photography.

"For the greater bulk of my life, I have had an interest in photography that stems from an early passion for nature and my interest to capture certain experiences," he said.

According to Holman, it is almost nearly impossible to capture the emotions he feels while experiencing particular things, but he has some great photographs to help tell the story.

He and his wife, Paula, have traveled to, among other places, Madagascar, Brazil, Australia, Indonesia, Borneo, and even lead trips in the Canadian Arctic.

On those trips he has captured images of polar bears, penguins, wild orangutans, cheetahs, rare species of porcupines and other exotic animals and landscapes.

"It’s almost like you are in an entirely different world,” Holman said. Over the years he has been followed by a young polar bear, been a few feet from a male orangutan, and even a short distance from a wild cheetah.

When traveling, Holman usually searches the internet for contacts in the countries, and he and his wife usually avoid resorts and hotels, and stay and travel with local community guides from the community.

"You can’t get the full effect of the area staying in large hotels and resorts. Many times we will stay with the locals in their village. The internet has made it increasingly easy to find contacts in certain areas," he said.

Holman and his wife have made long-term friends through contacts in Brazil and other countries, he said.

The two plan to continue traveling, and Holman has hopes of getting to India, Ethiopia and some remote parts of Tibet to capture the rare Tibetan Antelope.

"I can’t stop now. My wife and I have taken a major trip for about three or four weeks at a time for the last ten years," Holman said. "I have to have that balance between work and fun; I have to be able to get away for my passion."
