Bubbler Jump Start on the Weekend

  • Thursday, July 8 through Sunday, July 11 Bastille Days will take place in Milwaukee’s Cathedral Square Park. Celebrate the French Independence Day with roaming minstrels, activities for the kids, and great food. The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
  • Thursday, July 8 through Saturday, July 11 Gathering on the Green family festival will be held in Mequon’s Rotary Park, jfs;fj;sdfj and will feature international artists Daryl Stuermer and Tierney Sutton. The  Milwaukee Ballet, The Florentine Opera Company, the Gathering on the Green Orchestra and the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance are also scheduled for performances.Choreographed fireworks and “green” children’s activities will also be featured.   • Friday, July 9 through Sunday, July 11 the Bay View Lions Club will host the 61st Anniversary of the South Shore Frolic at South Shore Park in Bay View. The event will feature a fish fry, a parade featuring the University of Wisconsin marching band, music all three nights, arts and crafts show, classic car show, a “movie on the beach” a wide variety of food, free games for kids and fireworks.”We’re a working class person’s festival,” said Dave Reszel, publicity chairman and MC for the Frolic. “(The Frolic is) where a family can enjoy the lake view, music, fun, food, games, classic cars, crafts, and fireworks in a laid back atmosphere. For thousands of southern Milwaukee County residents, it wouldn’t be summer without the South Shore Frolic." The event is expected to attract 60,000 to 70,000 people.
