  • Saturday, Feb. 11 Sprecher Brewery will be transformed into Lou Zar’s Speakeasy for a 1920’s Valentine’s Day murder mystery dinner. The event will begin with a brewery tour followed by a 3-course themed dinner complete with Sprecher beers and gourmet sodas. During the dinner someone in the “family” gets murdered, mobsters appear and comic mayhem ensues. Guests are encouraged to hone their sleuthing skills because the killer could be anyone in the room. Tour will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the dinner at 5:30 and a cash bar from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person and seating is limited.   • Wednesday, Feb. 15 A Women’s Focus Luncheon with key note speaker Gigi Pomerantz will be held at the Ozaukee Country Club, 10823 N. River Road in Mequon starting at 11:30 a.m. Pomerantz is a nurse practitioner who helped form YOUTHAITI organization to support and protect the environment and replenish soil, grow gardens, plant tree and help the communities in Haiti. Cost to attend is $20 and reservations can be made by visiting www.womensfocus.org.

  • Friday, Feb. 17 Jerry Jendusa, CEO of EMTEQ corporation, will be the featured guest of the Independent Business Association of Wisconsin’s Breakfast which will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Wisconsin Club, 900 W. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee.  Jendusa will present “From garage to global provider.” The public is invited to attend the Breakfast meetings. The cost to attend is $30 for IBA members and $35 for non-members.  Pre-registration and advance payment is required and may be done online at www.IBAW.com.
