*Tuesday, Sept. 16, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and FUEL Milwaukee will hold a FUEL Orientation at the MMAC’s offices, located at 756 N. Milwaukee St. in downtown Milwaukee. The orientation will cover FUEL’s mission and educate prospective members about the benefits of joining the professional networking organization. Attendees will also have an opportunity to network at the event. The orientation will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with a mix and mingle, presentation, and Q&A session. Space is limited. *Wednesday, Sept. 17, Henry Maier Festival Park will continue its free weekly concert series at its South Pavilion. The series, Tap into Mid-Week Music, features three concerts total. The first concert was held on Wednesday, Sept. 10. During Sept. 17’s concert, dubbed Jazz night, the Adonis Rose Quintet will perform. The final concert will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The music event includes free parking in Lot H, free admission and a free Miller Lite for attendees age 21 and older who arrive between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase. *Thursday, Sept. 18, BizTimes Media and ActionCoach of Milwaukee will kick off the first part of a new workshop series that will guide owners and C-level executives through steps of business growth. The series, titled “The Next Stage: Creating Massive Action in Your Business,” will launch with an event focused on “Define Your Culture, Shift Your Business: How Culture Impacts Performance in Your Organization.” The event will feature keynote speaker Anne Nimke, co-founder and CEO of The Good Jobs, Inc., and a panel of business experts who will discuss how businesses can leverage their corporate culture to boost their competitive advantage. The workshop will run from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Hotel, located at 375 S. Moorland Road in Brookfield, and costs $30. Additional workshop sessions are scheduled for each quarter. *Thursday, Sept. 25, the Milwaukee Press Club will host a “Behind the Headlines” luncheon focused on the need to enhance the city’s branding efforts. The luncheon, part of an ongoing series headed by the press club, will explore current initiatives that are helping raise Milwaukee’s identity on a national level and will also look at what needs to be done in order to further elevate its brand across the country and world. A group of area journalists and executives will facilitate a Q&A on Milwaukee’s brand. The luncheon, open to the public, will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Foley & Lardner LLP, located on the 40th floor of the U.S. Bank Building at 777 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. Cost is $20 for press club members and $25 for non-members and includes lunch. Seating is limited, and advanced registration and payment are required.
